Privacy Policy
AppCrunchStudio ("we," "our," or "us") operates the PDF Box mobile application for Android. We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our application.
Core Privacy Principles
Our philosophy is simple: Your data belongs to you.
- Privacy First — We build with your privacy as our top priority.
- No Ads — The app is entirely ad-free.
- No Tracking — We do not track your behavior, usage patterns, or location.
- No Sale of Data — We never sell, rent, or monetize your personal information.
- Local Processing — All PDF tools and document processing happen entirely on your own device. No files or document contents are ever uploaded to a server.
Information Collection and Use
No Account Required
You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information to use PDF Box.
What We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, harvest, or have access to any personal data, including but not limited to:
- Names, email addresses, or personal phone numbers
- Your device's contacts list or address book
- Unique device identifiers or Advertising IDs
- Analytics, crash reporting, or usage tracking data
- Biometric, payment, or location information
- PDF contents, images, text, or document passwords
Information Processed and Stored Locally
PDF Box is designed as a privacy-first, fully offline utility. Any data or files you interact with are handled directly on your device's local storage. This includes:
- Importing, viewing, and managing PDFs stored on your device
- Merging, splitting, compressing, and annotating PDFs
- Converting Images to PDF and PDF to Images
- Locking and unlocking password-protected PDFs (using the correct password provided by you)
Note: AppCrunchStudio cannot access, view, or modify any of this locally stored information or your document files. We provide no cloud storage infrastructure.
Device Permissions & Actions
To provide specific features, PDF Box requests access to certain device capabilities or utilizes system actions. These are used strictly for the following purposes:
- Photos and Videos / Media / Storage — Used to allow you to select images from your gallery for PDF conversion, and to browse, open, and save generated or edited PDF documents back to your device's storage.
- Camera — This optional permission is only accessed if you choose to take a photo to immediately convert it into a PDF. Camera images are processed in real-time on your device and are never uploaded or stored remotely.
We do not request permission to read your device's contact book, messages, or location history.
Internet Access and Third-Party Services
PDF Box functions entirely offline. No internet connectivity is required or utilized by the app for its core features. No tracking SDKs, cookies, or external analytics are included.
The Application is distributed through the Google Play Store, which is operated by Google LLC. While PDF Box itself does not collect or transmit data, Google Play Store services may collect metadata, device information, and transaction details related to app downloads and updates in accordance with Google's own privacy framework. These external services operate under their own independent privacy policies, and we encourage you to review the Google Privacy Policy.
Children's Privacy
PDF Box does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any personal data from any user, no such data is retained or shared.
Data Security
Because all document processing occurs locally on your device, its security depends heavily on your own security settings (such as device encryption, passcodes, and physical device security). While no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, we take reasonable technical measures to ensure the app operates safely within the sandboxed Android environment.
Your Rights (Data Control & GDPR Compliance)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws, users have specific rights regarding their personal data (including the rights to access, deletion, correction, and data portability).
Because we do not collect, store, or transmit your data on external servers, you maintain absolute, total control over your information. Your rights are natively exercised through the following means:
- You can view, edit, modify, or delete any of your documents directly through your device's local file manager or within the app at any time.
- You can completely erase all local operational data associated with the app by clearing the app's cache/data in your Android system settings or by uninstalling the application.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. We advise you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any updates.
